Warm Weather Washed Away By Worry Over Waves
Thursday December 19, 2024
The warm weather we've enjoyed this week in Ventura County is giving way to more clouds and cooler temperatures for the weekend through Tuesday with even a chance of some rain on Christmas Eve.
And now...some concern about the impacts of an angry ocean Sunday through Tuesday with a large west to northwest swell with 10-15 foot waves hitting north to west facing beaches in Ventura County.
That could prompt pier closures and cause minor beach front flooding.
They say stay off rock walls and jetties, a rogue wave could be dangerous and even deadly.
Also, rip currents and rough seas could make an ocean swim your last.
Boaters are being advised to stay in safe harbor because of the rough seas, large swells, and dense fog.
