Fatal Crash On 118 Freeway Near Simi Valley

     The CHP was investigating a fatal crash near Simi Valley before dawn on Wednesday morning.

     They say around 4:45 AM a 29-year-old man from Redlands, California was driving a 2017 Buick westbound on the 118 Freeway heading into Simi Valley from the San Fernando Valley.

     Investigators say as he passed Rocky Peak Road his vehicle traveled from the right lane onto the dirt and brush covered right shoulder.

     They say the vehicle then traveled up the side of the hill and went airborne flipping end over end before coming to rest on its roof.

     The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
