Two Woman Charged With Running Commercial Sex Operation In Newbury Park

     Two Los Angeles County women have been arrested and charged in connection with allegations they were operating a business in Newbury Park where the employees were allegedly providing commercial sex acts to customers.

     The arrests and charges are the result of nine month investigation by several different organizations including the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, the Ventura County District Attorney's Office, The Ventura County Human Trafficking Task Force, Thousand Oaks City Code Enforcement, and several specialized units of the Thousand Oaks Police Department.

     It focused on a business called Health Spa in the 400 block of North Ventu Park Road in Newbury Park and two women believed to be benefiting from it financially.

     On May 8th of this year, search warrants were served at the business and at the homes of the two women, 44-year-old Min Qiao of Hacienda Heights, and 58-year-old Xia Baker of Rowland Heights.

     They were arrested and charged with Pimping and Pandering while Qiao was also charged with Money Laundering, and Bribery of an Executive Officer.

     Both women have pleaded not guilty to the charges and Baker was released on bail while Qiao was still in jail Monday with bail set at $20,000.
