Oxnard Teenager Shot To Death

     Update--Oxnard police say the teenager found critically wounded by gunfire Monday night died later at the hospital.

     The 17-year-old male from Oxnard was found shortly before midnight Monday night in the area of Yucca and ""F" streets.

     Officers found evidence that the shooting took place in the 4200 block of South "G" Street in Oxnard.

     Police say the teen was rushed to the hospital suffering from a single gunshot wound and was listed in critical condition.

     But they say Tuesday afternoon they were notified by the hospital that he had died from his wound.

     The Oxnard PD Major Crimes Unit has now taken over the investigation as they try to determine who shot the teenager and why.

     The City of Oxnard offers a reward of $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any individuals responsible for committing homicides within the City.
