Friday January 13, 2023

Updated--The Ventura County Sheriff's Office says that a convicted serial rapist who has completed his sentence and also time in a state mental facility as a Sexually Violent Predator is being relocated to the Santa Paula area, in residence next to the Todd Road Jail.

Now 59-year-old Ross Wollschlager served 9 years in prison for two sexual assaults in the Ventura area back in the 1980's.

After his release in 1989, Wollschlager was convicted of sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 14 during one of several burglaries in the Ventura area.

He was sentenced to another 13 years in state prison.

In 1997 he was classified as a Sexually Violent Predator and sent to a locked state mental facility.

In 2020, he was ordered released and lived in an RV near the Ojai Valley and then near Santa Paula.

Now the authorities have found a permanent residence for him on Todd Road next to the Todd Road Jail near Santa Paula.

"Although Wollschlager has no criminal cases pending against him, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office feels compelled to notify the community of his relocation for the purposes of ensuring public safety.

This public notification is being made pursuant to PC 290.45. Anyone with questions or concerns is encouraged to contact Sergeant William Hollowell of the Sheriff’s Santa Clara Valley Station at 805-524-2233.

Residents of Ventura County can visit the Megan’s Law website (www.meganslaw.ca.gov) to familiarize themselves with the sex registrants in their community."
