Santa Paula Teen Killed In Solo Vehicle Crash

     The CHP says one person was killed early Thursday morning near Oxnard in what appears to be a solo vehicle crash.

     It was reported shortly after 3 AM on Vineyard Avenue just north of Carnegie Place.

     The CHP says a 19-year-old male from Santa Paula was driving a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound on Vineyard when he allowed the vehicle to turn towards the left where it left the roadway and crashed into a utility pole.

     The vehicle sustained major damage and the male driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, had to be extricated by firefighters.

     He was then rushed to VCMC where he died around 4:25 AM.

     The CHP says alcohol or drugs do NOT appear to be a factor in the crash.
