Oxnard Man Ordered To Stand Trial On Child Sexual Abuse Charges

     Following a preliminary hearing, a judge has ordered an Oxnard man to stand trial on several charges alleging extensive child sexual abuse.

     42-year-old Jesus Arteaga Gonzalez has pleaded not guilty to five felony counts including Continuous Sexual Abuse, Unlawful Sex with a Child Under 10, Aggravated Sexual Assault, Forcible Rape, and Possession or Control of Child Pornography.

     He has also denied a dozen special allegations including taking advantage of a positions of trust and the victim was vulnerable.

     In March of last year, Oxnard police learned from Santa Paula police about an 11-year-old female who had allegedly been sexually assaulted.

     Police say that their investigation revealed that the alleged sexual abuse had started when she was 8-years-old.

     They say during the investigation Arteaga Gonzalez fled but on April 6th law enforcement officers from several agencies descended on a home in the 1300 block of Cachuma Avenue in East Ventura where he was located and was taken into custody without incident.

     He remains in the Ventura County Jail on no bail and is due in court February 6th to be arraigned on the charges and have a pretrial conference date set.
