Victim Of Fatal Oxnard Hit And Run Collision Identified

     Updated--The pedestrian struck and killed by a vehicle in Oxnard just before dawn Monday morning has been identified.

     Police say that 40-year-old Ponciano Abarca-Garcia of Oxnard was in a crosswalk at Cooper Road and Grant Avenue in La Colonia when he fell to the ground.

     At that point the suspect vehicle ran over him and then fled the scene.

     Abarca-Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene.

     Oxnard police were still looking what is believed to have been a dark blue 2007-2012 Nissan Sentra that had moderate damage on the left side of the license plate above the rear bumper.
