Police say the motorcyclist, a 50-year-old Oxnard man, was traveling westbound on Third when he collided into the Honda Accord at the intersection with Marquita.
The motorcyclist was taken to VCMC with serious injuries, his current condition is unknown.
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old Oxnard man driving the Honda stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Simi Valley police say an observant citizen's report led to the arrest of two suspects in the theft of mail but not before officers were involved in a vehicle pursuit and a ground search for the suspects who then fled on foot.

It happened late Thursday afternoon at the Post Office in the 2500 block of Galena Avenue.
When officers responded to the report of the mail theft, the suspects fled in a vehicle and there was a pursuit that ended when the suspect vehicle became disabled in the area of Cochran and Yosemite and the suspects fled on foot into the nearby neighborhood.
That started an extensive search that resulted in the arrest of the two suspects, described as Los Angeles gang members.
The two men in their 20's were booked into the Ventura County Jail on a number of charges.
