The CHP is investigating two fatal crashes that happened in the rain Wednesday morning.

The first was shortly after 8:30 AM on the 126 east of Santa Paula.

The CHP says a 2018 Honda Civic was westbound on the 126 near Boosey Road when for reasons under investigation it traveled into the eastbound lanes where it collided with a 1999 Ford pick-up.

The 29-year-old female passenger from Santa Clarita in the Honda was killed.

The 35-year-old Santa Clarita man driving the Honda and the 44-year-old Fillmore man driving the pickup were both taken to VCMC with major injuries.

The drivers of two other westbound vehicles collided with debris in the roadway from the initial crash and were not hurt.

The CHP says weather conditions at the time of the crash were wet and cloudy.

The crash shut down the 126 in both directions for two and a half hours.

Just as that crash was being cleared, there was a fatal crash on the southbounf 23 Freeway at Olsen Road in Thousand Oaks.

It involved a white pickup and a white SUV.

One person was killed in that crash another injured.

It was also wet and cloudy at the time of the crash that shut down the left and middle lanes of the freeway for two and a half hours.
