Cats Die In Ventura Mobile Home Fire

     Corrected--Four cats died, one survived, in a fire in a mobile home in Ventura late Saturday afternoon.

     The fire was reported shortly before 5 PM in Imperial Mobile Home Park just southeast of the 101/126 Interchange.

     When firefighters arrived, they found a fully involved attic fire.

      Crews on the roof created ventilation for the flames while crews inside the structure worked to extinguish it at the source.

     The fire was controlled 40 minutes after the first units arrived.

     Firefighters from Ventura City were joined by firefighters from Oxnard City and the Ventura County departments in battling the blaze.

     All of the people in the home got out OK, there were no injuries.

     However, four of the five family cats were killed.

     Cause of the fire is under investigation.
