Ventura Man Accused Of Violence And Threats Towards Two Women

Wednesday January 10, 2024

A Ventura man is due in court Thursday to face several charges stemming from an alleged incident in the Santa Clara River bottom two weeks ago.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office says the 29-year-old man is alleged to have battered one woman with a large object and his hands causing several visible injuries.

He is then alleged to have brandished a large wooden object and a large knife at the victim and made what are described as credible threats that caused her to fear for her life.

Deputies say the man then threatened a second woman in the same incident.

A ground and air search for the man was conducted by responding deputies but because of the dense foliage and difficult terrain in the river bottom failed to locate the suspect.

However, deputies say that following a two week investigation they found the suspect midday Tuesday and he was taken into custody in the Santa Clara River bottom south of Kennebec Linear Park in Ventura.
