Oxnard Man Killed By Train Friday

Updated--Oxnard police and Amtrak were investigating an incident Friday afternoon involving a train that struck and killed a pedestrian, a 64-year-old Oxnard man.
It was reported around 12:54 PM near where the tracks run parallel to Oxnard Boulevard, just north of Gonzales Road in an unprotected area with no crossing.
According to a report from Metrolink, "Tracks are closed between Oxnard and Ventura – East due to Amtrak 769 striking a person on the tracks. No Metrolink service is impacted currently, updates to follow."
Amtrak 769 is designated as a Pacific Surfliner train that was traveling northbound between Oxnard and Ventura when it happened.
There was a report from the scene that the pedestrian stepped out onto the track and then was struck by the train.
There were no reports that anyone on the train was hurt.
