Simi Valley police say they plan to end May and begin June with a "Click It or Ticket" enforcement campaign that will include Memorial Day Weekend.

Patrol officers will be searching for vehicles where drivers and passengers are not wearing seat belts.

They will also be looking for vehicles where children are not properly secured in child safety seats depending on age and weight.

California law requires that a child be secured in a safety or booster seat until they are at least 8 years old or at least 4 feet 9 inches tall.

Children under 2 years old must ride in rear facing safety seats unless the child weighs 40 pounds or more or is 40 or more inches tall.
