Search For Suspects Who Used A Vehicle To Injure Deputy In Casitas Springs

Wednesday January 03, 2024

The Ventura County Sheriff's Major Crimes Bureau was searching for the burglary suspects who used a vehicle to injure a deputy early Wednesday morning.

The deputy had responded to a report of a "burglary in progress" at the Casitas Market in the 8600 block of North Ventura Avenue in Casitas Springs around 4:40 AM.

When she arrived on scene she was confronted by several suspects who got into a vehicle and drove at the deputy, hitting her and causing what the sheriff's office says were significant injuries.

She was transported by ambulance to VCMC for treatment and later released.

The suspects were last seen fleeing the area in two vehicles, a light-colored SUV and a dark-colored sedan.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance from the public regarding this ongoing investigation.

Anyone who witnessed, has knowledge of the incident, or has surveillance video of any kind related to this incident is encouraged to contact Sergeant Gonzales at (805) 384-4721.
