Jury Deliberations Continue In Trial Of Man Accused Of Sexually-Related Crimes In Ventura County

     Updated--The jury in the trial of a man charged in connection with several sexually related and other crimes in Ventura County Tuesday asked for and received more "read-back"of testimony of another witness in the trial.

     This time the witness was one of the alleged victims.

     41-year-old Edgar Rodriguez Ruelas of Woodland Hills is facing five felony counts and 21 special allegations in connection with alleged sexual assaults and attempted sexual assaults of women during residential burglaries in Ventura and Thousand Oaks.

     He is also accused of an attempt to grab a teenage girl on a hiking trail in Thousand Oaks in 2020.

     She managed to break away and escape.

     After getting the "read-back" Tuesday the jury recessed for the day and is expected to resume deliberations Wednesday which would be their third day of deliberations.

     Rodriguez Ruelas remains in the Ventura County Jail with bail set at $5 million.
