Fire At Long Time Ventura Restaurant

     Fire broke out just after dawn Monday morning at a well known and long time Ventura restaurant.

      It was reported just before 6 AM at the Original Pizza Chief in the 1600 block of East Main Street in Ventura.

     When firefighters arrived at the scene they found smoke coming from the structure.

     The fire had started inside the restaurant and had made it into the attic.

     Firefighters were able to knock the fire down within eight minutes after the initial dispatch.

     The restaurant was closed at the time of the fire, no one was in the restaurant, and no one was hurt.

     Exactly how and why it started was still under investigation.

     The restaurant has been a fixture in Ventura since 1976.
