Channel Islands High was in second place, again, and Thousand Oaks High was third, again.
The winners were announced in a ceremony in Camarillo.
In addition to Westlake, Channel Islands, and Thousand Oaks, the other high schools that took part in this year's competition were Adolfo Camarillo, Fillmore, Oak Park, Pacifica, Royal, and Santa Susana.
This year's theme was "Our Changing Climate."
Westlake will now go on to the statewide competition.
Channel Islands was also invited to the statewide competition as an "at large" entrant because of their scores.
The winner of the California Academic Decathlon will go on to the national competition.
Teams from Ventura County have made it to the national competition six times, including placing second in 2000 and 2002, and taking first place nationally in 1999, 2003, 2008, and 2009.
