Heat Finally Arrives In Ventura County's Valleys Monday But The Coast Stayed Cool

     Update--The heat finally arrived Monday in Ventura County's Valleys while the coast remained relatively cool.

     The hot spot in Ventura County Monday was Fillmore at 94 degrees.

     It was 93 degrees in Ojai which was 23 degrees warmer than just a few miles away in Ventura where the high Monday was 70.

     And that temperature difference played out across much of Ventura County.

     For instance, Simi Valley hit 92 while at the National Weather Service Office in Oxnard it was 74.

     Thousand Oaks reached 90 but on the other side of the Conejo Grade in Camarillo the high was 73.

     The forecast is for one more day of valley heat and then a cool down while the coast remains the cool place to be in Ventura County.
