Ventura Police Investigate Homicide

     Updated--Ventura Police Major Crimes detectives are investigating a homicide.

     About 10:45 PM Saturday night officers responded to a shooting in the 100 block of West Simpson Street.

     That is a residential area a block west of Ventura Avenue.

     They found a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

     He was taken to a local hospital where he died.

     The initial investigation revealed that the victim was in a the passenger seat of a vehicle when the suspect approached and opened fire.

     The suspect then fled on foot.

     The only description of the suspect was a male dressed in all black clothing.

     Police believe it was an isolated incident with no immediate threat to the public.
