It's been 11 years since 42-year-old Edward Velasquez of Oxnard was fatally shot at the intersection of Cortez Street and Salem Avenue in El Rio.
He died at the scene from a gunshot wound to the upper body.
It was 9:47 PM on the night of October 26, 2012.
Witnesses at the time described his killer as a light-complected Hispanic man in his early to mid 20's, clean cut, and driving a beige 4-door sedan.
Despite witnesses and evidence at the scene the case went cold a year later.
But now investigators with the Ventura County Sheriff's Major Crimes Bureau have reopened the case and they are looking for public help in identifying and locating the suspect.
They believe that advances in forensic technology and that public help can lead them to Velasquez's killer.
