Several recent fires in Ventura County appear to be arson and they are targeting agricultural operations.
The latest was late Monday night in the fields near the 2100 block of Knoll Drive just outside the City of Ventura.
When firefighters arrived on the scene they found a large trailer containing polyethylene sheeting used in farming fully engulfed in flames.
Those flames also impacted a stack of nearby pallets and a tractor.
The fire could be seen over a wide area.
Firefighters were able to knock the fire down before it did any significant damage to the tractor.
There have been similar fires recently in other agricultural fields in and around Ventura and Oxnard and officials suspect they were deliberately set.
