Thursday April 04, 2024
A Ventura chiropractor was in court Thursday and pleaded not guilty to eight felony counts of the sexual battery of unconscious patients.
Initially, Doctor Fernando Juarez Gomez Jr. of Oxnard was accused of crimes involving two patients but following news of his arrest in March, prosecutors say that three more patients came forward with similar allegations.
The authorities allege that the crimes took place at his office on Westinghouse Street in Ventura.
In addition to pleading not guilty to the eight felony charges, Gomez also denied eight special allegations that he took advantage of a position of trust.
The judge said that Gomez is prohibited from working as a chiropractor or trainer.
He remains free on bail with several conditions allowing for him to remain free on bail.
