Trial Ordered For An Oxnard Man In A Fatal Ventura Hit And Run Involving A Pedestrian

Update--An Oxnard man has been ordered to stand trial in connection with a fatal hit and run traffic collision in Ventura that killed a pedestrian.
30-year-old Frank Estanol lll is charged with felony hit and run involving death.
He has pleaded not guilty.
Police say that the 30-year-old victim was crossing Thompson Boulevard northbound at Ash Street around 12:30 AM April 10, 2022 in the crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Thompson.
He was pronounced dead at the scene from a head injury.
Police say they located and impounded the suspect vehicle, a silver sedan, the next day.
They also said at the time they were investigating "a person of interest."
Estanol was arrested in November of 2022 for felony hit and run and also felony failing to yield to pedestrian in a crosswalk.
Following his preliminary hearing Tuesday, he remained free on his own recognizance with an ankle monitor.
Estanol is due back in court July 5th to have a trial date set.
