Thousand Oaks Man Killed His Son And Then Himself

      Update--The Ventura County Sheriff's Major Crimes Bureau says that the deaths of a father and son in Thousand Oaks Tuesday appear to be a murder-suicide by strangulation.

      There was a 9-1-1 call shortly before 7 PM reporting a possible suicide in a condo in the 2300 block of Chiquita Lane.

      When deputies and emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene they found 43-year-old Blaine Paddock of Thousand Oaks dead and his 7-year-old son unresponsive.

      The boy was rushed to Los Robles Medical Center as first responders tried to revive him but he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

     Investigators and the Medical Examiner's Office say that it appears that Paddock strangled his son and then committed suicide by ligature strangulation.

     They do not believe there are any outstanding suspects related to the deaths and they identify Paddock as the suspect and his son as the victim.
