Thousand Oaks Man Convicted Of Torturing His 4-Year-Old Daughter

Updated--A Ventura County jury has found a Thousand Oaks man guilty of torturing and beating his then 4-year-old daughter, leaving her in a vegetative state.
The panel also found 28-year-old Tekquan Alexander of Thousand Oaks guilty of Assault On A Child Causing Coma or Paralysis, Child Endangerment, and Corporal Injury To A Child.
The jury spent about two days in deliberations before returning their verdict Tuesday afternoon.
Alexander was also convicted on several special allegations.
Sentencing was set for December 12th and he faces a maximum sentence of seven years to life in prison.
On Thanksgiving week 2021 at the family home in the 4100 block of Lemonberry Place in Thousand Oaks Alexander used a belt and also an amplifier cable to repeatedly beat his then 4-year-old daughter Alani over several days, in one instance because he was mad she wet her bed.
On November 29th, first responders were finally called.
They reported finding the girl suffering from what was described as life threatening injuries.
Paramedics administered CPR and she was rushed to the hospital in critical condition with catastrophic injuries.
She was later airlifted to Children's Hospital in Los Angeles.
Alexander testified in his own defense at his trial.
Alexander remains in the Ventura County Jail and is being held without bail.
