Thousand Oaks Man Charged With Torture Of His Daughter Takes The Witness Stand In His Own Defense

     Updated--The Thousand Oaks man charged with torturing his then 4-year-old daughter took the witness stand in his own defense Tuesday.

     28-year-old Tekquan Alexander is facing four felony charges including Torture, Assault On A Child Causing Coma or Paralysis, Child Endangerment, and Corporal Injury To A Child.

     On November 29, 2021, deputies responded to a home in the 4100 block of Lemonberry Place in Thousand Oaks.

     They reported finding the girl suffering from what was described as life threatening injuries.

     Paramedics administered CPR and she was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

     The trial recessed for the day after the prosecutor began to cross examine Alexander.

     Alexander has pleaded not guilty to all charges and has denied nine special allegations.

     Alexander remains in the Ventura County Jail and is being held without bail.
