Thousand Oaks Man Charged In Alleged Attack On Elder Family Members

      A 21-year-old Thousand Oaks man has been charged in connection with an alleged attack on two elder family members.

     Prosecutors charged Scott Goldberg with attempted murder in the alleged attack on the 63-year-old female victim and assault with a deadly weapon in connection with a 64-year-old male victim.

     It's believed the weapon was a hammer.

     The woman was taken to the hospital suffering from what the authorities said were "significant life-threatening injuries."

     At last report she was listed in critical condition.

     The man was also injured in the attack, but not as seriously.

     It happened in their home in the 200 block of Mayfield Court in the Newbury Park section of Thousand Oaks.

     Goldberg appeared in court Tuesday afternoon but he did not enter a plea and his arraignment was continued until December 20th with a bail review hearing set for November 29th.

     Meanwhile, he remains in the Ventura County Jail with bail set at $510,000.
