Update--The suspect in a Ventura shooting that left another man critically wounded is in the Ventura County Jail after being extradited back to California from Wyoming where he was located and captured.
They say that 38-year-old Brian Torres of Ventura was arrested in Laramie, Wyoming where he had been in custody after police there responded to a report of a suspicious subject at a laundromat.
Ventura police had earlier issued a warrant for Torres's arrest after their Major Crimes detectives developed information that alleged he was the suspect who critically wounded a 20-year-old man in a shooting in the predawn hours of July 21st on Simpson Street east of Ventura Avenue.
In that shooting, several shots were fired at the victim with one round striking him in the torso.
According to court and jail records, Torres was booked into the Ventura County Jail Saturday with bail set at $250,000 and is due in court Monday to be arraigned on the arrest warrant charging him with attempted murder.
