Updated---The man accused of running over a Ventura County sheriff's deputy in an attempt to flee the authorities was in court Friday afternoon to face formal charges.
30-year-old Bryan Torres-Aparicio of Ventura pleaded not guilty to five charges including three felonies and two misdemeanors.
Those chargers include Assault on a Peace Officer, Battery on a Peace Officer, and Resisting Arrest.
The incident happened Tuesday night when deputies spotted his vehicle at a gasoline station on west Ventura and attempted to take him into custody for an outstanding felony warrant.
The sheriff's office says Torres-Aparicio resisted and a scuffle ensued.
They say he got back into his vehicle and started to drive off, dragging one of the deputies.
The vehicle ran over her legs causing injuries.
She was treated and release from VCMC for non-life threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, Torres-Aparicio fled, prompting a massive search that ended with his arrested Wednesday afternoon at the Oxnard Transportation Center.
He remains in the Ventura County Jail and while he has bail set at $100,000 he cannot be released because he violated the terms of his Post Release Offender Supervision status (PROS).
His criminal history appears to be center on illegal drugs and weapons violations.
