Simi Valley Garage Fire

     Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire that caused major damage to the garage of a Simi Valley home Monday afternoon.

     The fire was reported shortly before 1 PM at the single family home in the 5700 block of Cherokee Circle.

     When firefighters arrived at the scene, they reported a working fire in the garage.

     They cut holes in the roof to stop the fire progression in the attic and had the fire knocked down shortly after that.

     The fire appeared confined to the garage which suffered major damage to the structure and its contents.

     No injuries were reported.
