Separate Shootings Friday In Port Hueneme And Oxnard Kill One, Critically Injure Another

Updated--Police in Port Hueneme and Oxnard are investigating separate shootings that happened within 24 hours of each other Friday that killed one man and critically wounded another.
Port Hueneme police say around 11 PM officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 2600 block of Yardarm Avenue and found an adult male shooting victim in the front yard of a residence.
He was taken to the hospital where he died.

Meanwhile, Oxnard police were investigating a separate shooting that happened early Friday morning in that city.
It was reported around 4:40 AM in the 2200 block of Reina Circle.
As officers responded to the scene they received a call that a 38-year-old Oxnard man was being taken to Saint John's Medical Center by private vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was later transferred by paramedic ambulance to VCMC where police say he was listed in critical condition.
Officers found evidence of the shooting in front of the residence on Reina Circle and were also looking for a suspect and motive for the crime.
Investigators from the Oxnard Police Department Violent Crimes Unit assumed responsibility for the investigation. The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
