Santa Paula Woman Killed In Crash Near Oxnard

     The California Highway Patrol says a woman was killed Wednesday afternoon in a solo vehicle crash in an agricultural field north of Gonzales Road and west of Victoria Avenue.

     The incident was reported around 2 PM in the 4100 block of Gonzales Road.

     The CHP says it appears that the incident actually began on southbound Victoria north of Gonzales Road with a collision involving a 2012 Land Rover LR4 SUV and another vehicle.

     They say the driver of the Land Rover, 36-year-old Deborah Allen of Santa Paula, then drove through an agricultural field northwest of the intersection and into a drainage ditch and collided with the concrete edge of a private roadway.

     The CHP says that Allen lost control of her vehicle and it began to spin out of control.

     They say she was partially ejected and the right side of the vehicle overturned on her.

     Allen was pronounced dead at the scene.

     The CHP is still investigating the incident and Oxnard PD was looking into the initial incident on Victoria near Gonzales.
