Santa Paula Man Sentenced For Child Sexual Abuse

     A Santa Paula man has been sentenced to 34-years-to-life in prison for the extensive and repeated sexual abuse of two children over several years.

     27-year-old Rodolfo Duran pleaded guilty to two felony counts including sex abuse of a child under 10 and another count of unlawful sexual abuse of a child under 14.

     He also admitted three special allegations including that the crimes involved great violence, took advantage of a position of trust, and that the victims were vulnerable.

     The charges and special allegations that were filed against Duran go on for three pages, but most were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

     Prosecutors say that in 2018, one of the victims reported the crimes to her school teacher and Santa Paula police detectives quickly discovered a second victim.

     While being questioned by police, Duran confessed.
