Santa Maria Man Sentenced For Oxnard Murder

Updated--A Santa Maria man has been sentenced to 29-years-to-life in prison after
pleading guilty to murder earlier this year in the shooting death of a man in Oxnard.
Prosecutors say that 25-year-old Manuel Dominguez Jr. was 19 when he was involved in an altercation with 29-year-old Roberto Gutierrez of Oxnard on December 13, 2018, in front of a residence in the 300 block of Magnolia Avenue in Oxnard.
During the altercation, Dominguez used a handgun to shoot Gutierrez once in the chest.
Gutierrez was rushed to VCMC where he later died.
The investigation led to Dominguez as the suspect and he was arrested on January 2, 2019.
