Simi Valley Man Convicted In Extreme Stalking Case

Thursday March 28, 2024

A Ventura County jury has convicted a man of what the prosecutor termed an "obsessive and vindictive" case of stalking.

The panel found 52-year-old Jason Anthony Arnold of Simi Valley guilty of felony stalking, felony extortion, and three misdemeanors regarding the distribution of private intimate photos of the victim.

Prosecutors say that following the break-up with the victim in 2019 Arnold began a campaign of stalking and threatening her.

He demanded $54,000 from her or else he would distribute private intimate photos of her.

When she did not pay, he distributed the photos to her mother, brother, new boyfriend, and then he posted them around her business and her new boyfriend's apartment complex.

Prosecutors say a sex ad accompanied the photos along with her home address and personal cell phone number.

The victim obtained a domestic violence restraining order but Arnold continued to text, email, and harass her.

Arnold remains in jail being held without bail and is facing 3 years and 8 months in prison when he is sentenced on April 25th.
