A judge Tuesday sentenced an Oxnard woman to four years in the Ventura County Jail for stealing thousands of dollars from a business and a charity in the Ojai Valley.
30-year-old Ursula Ruiz had earlier pleaded guilty to several counts of grand theft.
Prosecutors say when she worked for the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy, Ruiz stole about $57,000.
They say when she worked for Haney Landscaping, she stole about $18,000.
Prosecutors say she committed the thefts by forging checks and misusing company credit cards.
They say she has shown no remorse for her actions.
Representatives of the Conservancy and the landscaping company submitted victim impact statements detailing the damage done by Ruiz because of her theft.
The Conservancy said she also hurt the organization's reputation making it more difficult to solicit donations.
Ruiz is already in custody and is now serving that sentence.
