Wednesday February 27, 2019

The Oxnard Police Department says that early Wednesday morning they arrested two people in connection with two January gang-related incidents involving guns.

They say search warrants were issued around 5 AM at three locations, the 3000 block of "L" Street in Oxnard, the 2000 block of Blackberry Circle in Oxnard, and the 6300 block of McBean Road in Somis.

Police say the search warrants were in connection with two separate gang-related shootings in Oxnard on January 19th in the 2000 block of Kepler Drive in Oxnard and on January 21st in the 100 block of North Oxnard Boulevard in Oxnard.

During the search on L Street in Oxnard, they arrested a 17-year-old male from Oxnard and confiscated a large caliber revolver with ammunition.

The juvenile was lodged in Juvenile Hall for attempted murder with a gang enhancement and firearms related charges.

The juvenile's name and picture were not released because of his age.

They say after the search warrants were carried out, 20-year-old Emilio Torres of Oxnard was contacted at the Oxnard Police station and arrested for brandishing a firearm with a gang enhancement.
