Young Oxnard Man Loses Life In Solo Vehicle Crash

     Oxnard police say a young man lost his life in a solo vehicle crash in the predawn hours of Saturday morning February 1st.

     It happened around 3:20 AM near the intersection of Latigo Avenue and Graves Avenue.

     Police say that 19-year-old Johann Villanueva of Oxnard was driving westbound on Latigo Avenue when for reasons still under investigation struck a curb west of the intersection, lost control of his vehicle, and collided with a tree.

     Villanueva was taken to VCMC in critical condition and died at the hospital.

     Police believe there were no other vehicles or people involved in the crash.

     They say they do not know whether speed, alcohol, or drugs were involved in the crash and the investigation is ongoing.
