Oxnard Police Say Fatal Vehicle Versus Pedestrian Incident Was Homicide

The Oxnard Major Crimes Unit is investigating a fatal vehicle versus pedestrian collision late Saturday night that that they are calling a homicide, not an accident.
It was reported at 11:39 PM in a parking lot in the 100 block of Magnolia Avenue.
When first responders arrived they found 46-year-old Raul Silva of Oxnard down on the ground and unresponsive.
He was transported to the trauma center at VCMC where he was pronounced deceased.
Police say there were several witnesses who told them Silva was involved in some sort of verbal altercation with the occupants of the suspect vehicle.
The witnesses say at that point the driver of that suspect vehicle intentionally ran down Silva and then fled the scene.
The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
This is the sixth homicide of 2024 in the city of Oxnard.

The city of Oxnard offers a reward of$25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any individuals responsible for committing homicides within the city.
