Updated--The suspect arrested this week in an Oxnard homicide case was formally charged by prosecutors with murder and with a special allegation of use of a firearm.
But 23-year-old Hugo Quebrado of Oxnard did not enter a plea Thursday and his arraignment was postponed a month.
He is now being held without a chance for bail.
The killing happened on the night of October 22, 2022 in the 300 block of Cuesta Del Mar.
Police say the victim, 36-year-old Ronald Apodaca Junior of Oxnard, was shot and died at the scene.

Police say during their lengthy investigation they were able to obtain sufficient evidence that Quebrado was their suspect.
On Tuesday morning, police served a search warrant at Quebrado's home and arrested him.
