A Ventura County judge Friday sentenced an Oxnard man to a prison term that ensures he will die behind bars.
39-year-old Omar Cruz-Hernandez was sentenced to 152-years-to-life in prison for the extensive sexual abuse of two little girls.
In August, a jury convicted him on seven counts of felony child sexual abuse including forcible rape, engaging in sexual intercourse with a child under 10 years old, and continual sexual abuse.
The jury also found true that Cruz-Hernandez sexually abused one of the two girls since she was ten years old and the other since she was seven.
Prosecutors say he gained access to the victims through a familial relationship.
The crimes came to the attention of Oxnard police in June of 2023.
