Update--A church volunteer from the Oxnard area was sentenced Tuesday to three years and four months in prison after earlier pleading guilty to two felony counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and no contest to lewd act upon a child.
45-year-old Isaias "Carlos" Vasquez of Oxnard was originally arrested for luring three girls, two 14-year-olds and a 17-year-old, to separate locations in separate incidents under the pretense that he had cleaning jobs for them.
In two cases, the sexual assaults took place in Oxnard motels, the third was in a vehicle in the unincorporated area of the Ojai Valley.
The investigation into the allegations began when one of the 14-year-olds reported the assault to Oxnard police.
Detectives then discovered the other two victims.
The authorities say that Vasquez met the girls working as a volunteer at a church in Nyeland Acres near Oxnard.
Under his plea agreement, several other charges against him were dismissed at sentencing.
In addition to more than three years in prison, Vaquez must also be registered as a sex offender and he can have no contact in any way with any of the victims.
