An overturned big rig on Highway 118 (Los Angeles Avenue) in Somis Wednesday created a commuter nightmare for most of the day.
It happened around noon after the westbound tractor trailer rig ran off the roadway and overturned into a ditch.
There were no serious injuries reported but it forced the CHP to shut down the 118 in that area well into the night.
As of 9 PM they were still having trouble getting the rig out of the ditch and back on its wheels.

The Ventura County Sheriff's Office says they arrested a Fresno woman near the 126 in Piru for having a gun in her purse.
Tuesday afternoon a deputy patrolling in the 3000 block of Torrey Road saw a man and woman who appeared to be stranded motorists.
When the deputy contacted the couple they say he discovered the 34-year-old woman was a convicted felon with an out of county warrant for her arrest.
That allowed the deputy to search the woman's purse where they say they found a handgun and ammunition.
She was arrested on firearms and other charges and booked into the Ventura County Jail with bail set at $80,000.
She is due in court Thursday.

Deputies in Camarillo carried out what's known as a minor decoy operation last weekend.
The target this time was a crackdown on the sale of tobacco products to underage customers.
Under the operation, an underage person being directly supervised by deputies went to more than two dozen businesses in Camarillo that sell tobacco products and tried to buy them.
The decoy, who was under 21 years old, was allowed to buy the items by the clerks at three of those businesses even after the clerk either checked I-D or never asked to see it.
The clerks were given misdemeanor citations and are facing fines.
The businesses themselves could also face sanctions.
