The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office says they’ve arrested two brothers in connection with an organized retail theft spree throughout Southern California over the past several months.
The Ventura County investigation began on November 16th of last year when the suspects entered a department store, disabled the security cable to a large jewelry display case, and carried the entire case out of the store and into a vehicle waiting directly in from of the exit doors.
That stolen jewelry was valued at more than $21,500.
Detectives say their subsequent investigation revealed the suspects had done the same thing at seven different locations of the same department store throughout Southern California for a total loss of more than $124,000.
Two of the seven incidents happened in Ventura County.
The brothers, 30-year-old Vardan Gevorgyan and 37-year-old Raphael, were finally located and arrested last week at the San Fernando Valley residence where they had been staying.
