Opening Statements/Testimony Set Friday In Trial Of Thousand Oaks Man Accused Of Extreme Physical Abuse Of Daughter

     Updated--Opening statements and testimony is excepted Friday in the trial of a Thousand Oaks man accused of the extreme physical abuse of his then 4-year-old daughter.

     A jury with alternates was picked and sworn in Thursday.

     28-year-old Tekquan Alexander is facing four felony charges including Torture, Assault On A Child Causing Coma or Paralysis, Child Endangerment, and Corporal Injury To A Child.

     On November 29, 2021, deputies responded to a home in the 4100 block of Lemonberry Place in Thousand Oaks.

     They reported finding the girl suffering from what was described as life threatening injuries.

     Paramedics administered CPR and she was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

     Alexander has pleaded not guilty to all charges and has denied nine special allegations.

     Alexander remains in the Ventura County Jail and is being held without bail.
