OPD Investigates Fatal Shooting

     The Oxnard Police Department's Major Crimes Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that was reported in the predawn hours of Sunday morning.

     It was shortly after 4:30 AM that officers and emergency medical personnel responded to the 100 block of South "H" Street.

     They found 39-year-old Ruben Villa of Oxnard suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

     Despite life saving efforts, he was pronounced dead.

     Major Crimes detectives are seeking additional information and the public’s support.

     The city of Oxnard offers a reward of $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any individuals responsible for committing homicides within the city.
