One Person Killed, Two Others Injured, In Head On 126 Crash Between Fillmorre And Piru

     The CHP says there was another fatal crash on Highway 126 in Ventura County during rainy weather.

     The latest happened Monday morning around 10:10 AM on the 126 between Fillmore and Piru.

     The CHP says a 64-year-old Palmdale man was driving a 2000 Mercury eastbound approaching Cavin Road "at an unknown high rate of speed for the wet conditions" when for unknown reasons he allowed his vehicle to travel into the westbound lane where it collided head-on with a 2013 BMW driven by a 24-year-old Valencia woman.

     The 66-year-old Palmdale woman who was the passenger in the man's Mercury was killed and he was taken to VCMC with major injuries.

     The Valencia woman driving the BMW was also taken to VCMC with major injuries.

     The crash shut down that stretch of the 126 for an hour.

     The CHP says they are still investigating the crash.

     On Friday afternoon there was another fatal crash on the 126 between Fillmore and Santa Paula under similar circumstances in terms of the weather and what happened.
