The occupants of a west Ventura home were able to escape a fire Sunday evening.
It was reported at 6:47 PM in the 100 block of Vince Street.
When the first fire units arrived on scene they found heavy smoke showing from inside the single story, single family home.
The occupants were trying to flee the structure as firefighters made an aggressive interior attack and began to make sure everyone got out OK.
They did.
No injuries were reported.
Firefighters were able to knock the fire down and it was controlled 20 minutes after they were dispatched.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
This was the second house fire in the city of Ventura in as many days.
On Saturday afternoon a fire that started in an attached garage that spread into the home in the 1300 block of Clay Avenue in east Ventura resulted in the deaths of a dog and two pet birds.
That cause of that fire was also under investigation.
