New Details On Fatal Thousand Oaks Crash

     Updated--The Ventura County Sheriff's Office has released additional details on Monday afternoon's fatal crash on Olsen Road in Thousand Oaks.

     Traffic investigators say that 77-year-old Bob Ferguson of Simi Valley was traveling at a high rate of speed when he rear-ended another vehicle driven by a 62-year-old Thousand Oaks man.

     After the collision, Ferguson's vehicle continued into the center median where it collided with a tree and then spun back onto the roadway where it came to rest.

     Meanwhile, the vehicle that was rear ended was pushed to the west some 500 feet down the roadway.

     They say first responders began conducting life saving efforts on Ferguson who was taken to the trauma center at Los Robles Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

     The 62-year-old Thousand Oaks man driving the vehicle that was rear ended was treated for moderate injuries at the hospital and then released.
