Mountain Fire Containment Now 98%, Evacuations Lifted

Update--Crews are closing in on full containment of the Mountain Fire.
As of Sunday evevning it was 98 percent contained with all evacuation orders lifted.
And the fire's size actually shrunk from 20,630 acres to 19,904 according to Cal Fire.
Damage estimates from the Mountain Fire continue to rise as assessment teams continue their work amid the devastation.
The number of residential, commercial, and other structures destroyed by the fire has increased to 243 with another 127 damaged.
No official cause of the fire has been made public.
On Thursday, the County of Ventura and the City of Camarillo opened a Local Assistance Center (LAC) to support of Mountain Fire recovery efforts.
Information will be available on-site on the following topics: rebuilding, tax relief, business and employment assistance, debris removal, permits, housing, rental assistance, vital records, property assessments, public assistance, crisis intervention stress management, and basic needs.
Services such as replacement of driver’s licenses and connection to health care resources will also be available on site.
The hours are subject to change depending on demand.
The LAC will be staffed by a wide array of County, City, and State agencies, as well as a number of non-profit organizations.
Bilingual staff will be available to provide assistance.
